SKIING INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
All the SnowSkool experience & all the luxury...condensed!
So you’re craving to get out to Biggie, to ski some powder, to live slopeside in a stunning apartment and to complete your ski instructor training...but you can’t get away for 11 weeks? Fear not, the SnowSkool schedule is on your side! We are running a five-week skiing course that will train you to become a ski instructor and it takes place slap-bang in the best part of the season. Powder is all but guaranteed!
The Level 1 ski instructor qualification is sufficient to see you working as a ski instructor but this course is also popular with those looking to improve their technique longer-term. SnowSkool also organises for some people to join us for the five-week Level 1 course in one season and then the five-and-a-bit-week Level 2 course the following season. This allows you to complete the full course over the course of two seasons without getting fired!

Who chooses this course?
The Big White short instructor course attracts a higher average age group than all other SnowSkool courses. As well as career-breakers unable to take 11 weeks out of the office, we’ll have those looking to kick-start a longer winter season in Canada.
To stand the best chance of passing your ski instructor exam in five weeks, we recommend four weeks on-snow experience – ideally the ability to ski a blue run with good speed and control.
CSIA Ski Qualifications
CSIA Level 1 Ski Instructors
Skiers in Big White train for the ski instructor qualifications of the CSIA (Canadian Ski Instructors’ Alliance). Those skiers on the 5-week skiing instructor training programme train for their Level 1 qualification - which entitles them to instruct in resorts across Canada as well as in Andorra, Australia, Bulgaria, Japan, the UK’s fine dry-slopes and snowdomes and throughout the USA.
As well as gaining their instructor qualifications, skiers on the 5-week programme will see a significant improvement in their all-round skiing ability through the intensive training provided by the instructors at Big White.

Louise Forster, 30, SnowSkool Big White 2008
“I had booked on for the 11-week skiing instructor training programme but my company did a U-turn and cancelled my sabbatical. So I had to speak to SnowSkool to see what could be done. Luckily they were cool with my new situation and offered me the option of transferring onto the 11-week 2009 programme or dropping down to the 5-week 2008 programme, which I did. Had a great time in Big White – course ran very smoothly and the accommodation was unreal. My skiing improved loads.”
