It's been an important and exciting week up at Big White. The first few weeks of the program have been building up to the level one exams that the SnowSkoolers took this week - and they did not disappoint!
After two final days of training to polish up their riding and teaching techniques, all of the students took part in the 3-day assessed course, the Snowboarders with CASI and the Skiers with CSIA. Over the three days they were assessed on their skiing and snowboarding standard and their ability to teach beginners. Despite a few injuries, the guys managed to obtain an overwhelming success rate. Huge congratulations to the whole team- you're now officially qualified instructors!
Celebrations were therefore in order at the end of the week, and with it also being Manager Charlotte's birthday there was even more cause for celebration. Happy birthday Charlotte! SnowSkool were lucky enough to hire out their own section of local restaurant Globe with their own personal cocktail maker and a delicious dinner buffet. The trainers came along to congratulate everyone too and the partying continued late into the night.
Despite some sore heads the next day, a lot of the guys were still up early for first chair the next morning to continue their celebrations on snow. Others took some time to relax and recuperate after a tough week, and some even traded in their skis and boards for a snowmobile for the day!
With level 1 now out of the way, it's time to look forward to the beginning of level 2 training - this is where the hard work really begins but things are looking good…
Until next time
