We’re off to a great start for SnowSkool Big White 2018! To kick start the first week we had a fantastic meet-and-greet with some of the trainers and the ski school director, Josh Foster, here at Big White. The evening helped everyone get pumped for the coming weeks and get to know the faces of the trainers that will be whipping them into shape over the duration of the course.
Of course, with all serious conversations comes a buffet dinner, which was held at Globe Tappas restaurant. It gave everyone a chance to mingle and ask the trainers those burning questions before jumping straight in the deep end and starting on snow training the following day.
This week's on-snow antics have mainly been spent getting to know everyone on the course, getting to know the mountain, and of course learning about the alpine responsibility code and mountain safety. Not only did the group learn about skiing the mountain they also learned about mountain weather! Boy, has it been a roller coaster ride for the team who have experienced almost all weather conditions up on the hill, from freezing rain, to fresh snow and blue-bird days!
With everyone still settling in and finding their feet after some long flights, the off snow activities have involved a lot of food sampling from restaurants around the resort and hot tubbing for those sore ski and board muscles. With everyone now settled into full day on-snow training I can't wait to see everyones progress and hear about their antics next week!
Stay tuned for next week's update!
