What a freezing week!!! Temperatures have dropped drastically with it sitting around -25 degrees consistently...but the good news is the snow has kept on coming and we are up at 290cm of snow meaning that we are going to be hitting that 3m snow base real soon! What a great season!
With the crew trying to stay warm and training for their level 2 they have been hitting up some different terrain, exploring gem lake. Luckily, but also unluckily, we have a had what seems to be a serious case of the man flu spreading through the ranks. Fortunately it came just after the last exams and people are going to get enough time to recover and get back on snow before the level 2...the seasonal super bug can be brutal but it catches up to all of us!!
Off the snow this week we got to take the SnowSkoolers ice skating on a lovely bluebird evening and the gang got to show off their hockey skills. Brian had a rough start, stacking it within seconds of stepping onto the ice, but had a incredible learning progressing and became a fierce hockey player!
The ladies; Jayd, Alison and Ellie took a more leisurely pace on the ice utilising the "zimmer frames" and came off unscathed from their experience, nice work girls you were braver than I!
We, unfortunately, had to say farewell to another in the group. Jack, who has had a rough go of it with his collarbone surgery. Sad to see you go, SnowSkool is definitely going to miss you!
As for this upcoming week, we're setting us up for an off mountain adventure to shake off some of that cabin fever. Night trip to Kelowna!!
Until next week.
