It has been a huge week in Big White for the SnowSkoolers out here. Level 1 exams went down over three days in perfect skiing and boarding conditions. The group spent the lead-up to the exams revising course material and perfecting their riding, skiing and teaching techniques.
The slightly frigid temperatures didn’t slow the group down as the course kicked off on Wednesday morning and ran right through to Friday afternoon. By the 3pm on Friday the results were in and celebrations had well and truly begun. Congratulations to all our SnowSkoolers on their Level 1 passes. A post-exam party at Snowshoe Sam’s kicked off a big weekend of relief and festivities. Saturday and Sunday brought some sun and some fresh snow. The newly qualified ski and snowboard instructors made the most of the conditions and were back out on their gear.
Will Jackson and Rhys Revitt were standouts on the park class last weekend and spent this weekend throwing their newly learned tricks on jumps and boxes. Ski-sliding long boxes and landing switch after only learning boxes last week is a massive improvement in a short time! Tarek, Charlie and Yonatan were very impressive on boards also, nailing large 360s!
The Level 1 celebrations continued into the weekend. But it’ll be back into Level 2 training on Monday! Time to push on to the final goal.
