We’re over half way through out here in Big White! Week 6 kicks off with the beginning of level 2 training for the group! After some very serious celebrating we all got a freeride day Monday which a lot of the group used to progress their park riding and skiing. While a few others slept off a big Sunday night!
The gang arose on Tuesday to a surprise 30cm pow day! With blue skies to boot! Perfect conditions and the best way to come back into lessons. The trainers eased the group into the new level of teaching by mixing it up with some tree runs and powder filled cliff laps to break it up.
All week the snow just kept coming, with pow day after pow day. Even the piste skiing and riding were thigh burners this week. The jump to level 2 training is noticeable and the group is adapting remarkably to the change.
A large contingency of SnowSkoolers spent Saturday night in Kelowna watching the Kelowna Rockets play Vancouver Giants in what was the first ice hockey experience for the majority of the group. Sadly, the Rockets went down 2 to nothing but spirits were still high.
With more snow in the forecast this coming week let’s see how the group’s legs hold up to the level 2 riding and skiing next week! These weeks are going to be testing the fitness of our SnowSkoolers for sure!
