It’s fair to say that last weekend started much more quietly than the last. After a full-on week of tuition, a large majority of the Skoolers decided it was time for a well-deserved lie in. After a late start, a few of the guys went up to the landing and built themselves a jump on which to practise. Max Muir and Will Adams were hucking 180's and 360's while Ryan Lawlor had us all entertained with his unbelievable energy – there’s little doubt he hit the jump more than anyone else!  Check out the photos below and share the glorious weather we enjoyed this week - best classroom in the world!

Sunday was the start of the Australia Day festivities – it was already 26 January over in Oz so it made sense to get cracking over here! Everyone was looking forward to their first Banff pub crawl and it was the perfect day for it. Almost everyone made it out for a few drinks complete with fake tattoos all over and Aussie flags flying high.  It was lots of fun exploring the many bars Banff has to offer - more than 200 eateries, bars and nightclubs here in this little town!
First thing on Monday morning Roberto, Ben Dodd, Max Muir and Ryan Lawlor went for a hike to watch the sunrise over Tunnel Mountain. There were a few clouds in the sky but it was beautiful none-the-less. A few of the guys made it up the hill but after such a heavy previous week, Monday was largely taken as a rest day.  It was back into lessons on Tuesday when there were a few tired faces to be seen on the bus to Sunshine but once back out on the hill, most were stoked to start back up again, especially when the instructors decided to mix it up with each group switching trainers. In the evening, Chris Whittaker defied all odds to beat Ben Dodd in the pool comp final.
We were delighted to discover that the hotel across from our hostel has several outdoor hot-tubs – and it made good sense to make full use of them as it’s the perfect way to unwind after a tiring day on the mountain. The legs are still adjusting to the heavy work load so this facility has proven the perfect preparation for the next morning!  Some of the Snowskoolers had another crack at the Canadian trivia night and somehow, Rebecca, Charlotte, Fiona and Ellie came out on top. Well done girls - obviously the brains of the group!  Best bail of the week has to be awarded to Ben Holt who had managed to perform a beautiful double ejection / yard sale while hitting a tree line with his group.
This weekend we are celebrating the birthdays of Tom Murrell and James Speakman. Tom is a big fan of karaoke so we organised a very tastefully themed homeless / backpacker karaoke party in the Storm Cellar and managed to pack it to the rafters! Best dressed had to go to Josh Tass and Ali Buck. We had a great night and as you can tell from the pictures, everybody embraced the theme and made Tom and James's night!
That’s about it from Banff this week.  Back before you know it with more news from this beautiful part of the world.
Cheers dears,
SnowSkool Cam and SnowSkool Adam
