From the lazy green slopes of ‘It’s a 10’ & the rolling blue terrain of Wiley Coyote & Wapiti - to the challenging bumps of Terminator and drop offs of CPR ridge there is terrain aplenty at Kicking Horse. “If you can see it you can ski it” - as the saying goes. Favourite runs are too many to list but include My Blue Heaven & Upper Kicking Horse for high speed carving, Showoff & Terminator for the bumps and Pioneer Chair for straight lining on a Powder day.
Make no mistake, Kicking Horse is a more demanding resort and the riding there is all about skiing the whole mountain. There are over 128 runs spread over 4 bowls with over 85 chutes and counting. If you are looking to challenge your skills and learn more than you ever thought you would about all mountain riding then the Horse is the place for you.
Although the lift system is small at KH - a main Gondola services the top to bottom and 3 chairs take up the slack elsewhere - don’t be worried, you can access all the terrain with these facilities and so much more. Outside of the resort ares the backcountry is accessed via easy hikes and ski tours with pretty much all routes leading back into resort. Be warned though - it's big country out there though so ACMG guides are a must.
