Slopes

These days, promising snow can be a bit risky—but some places still deliver, and Saas Fee is one of the best bets out there. Known as The Pearl of the Alps, this stunning resort is one of Europe’s most snow-sure spots in autumn. The village itself sits at 1,800m and is completely pedestrian-friendly, but the real magic happens up on the slopes between 2,500 and 3,500m. With one of the biggest glacier ski areas in the world, you can actually ski here for up to ten months a year!

You’ll, therefore, not be surprised to hear that Saas Fee is a favourite with the pros. Every autumn, top ski teams from around the world—including the U.S. and Swiss downhill teams—head here to train. And if freestyle’s more your style, check out the epic Stomping Grounds Park, where the U.S. freestyle team gets ready for the season.

Accommodation & Meals

While you're on the SnowSkool course in Saas Fee, you’ll be staying at the cosy and welcoming Hotel Rodania, located in nearby Saas Grund. As standard, you’ll be sharing a comfortable en-suite twin room with another SnowSkool student—but if you'd prefer your own space, single rooms are available for a small extra cost (just let us know!).

Hotel Rodania makes a perfect base for your instructor training. It’s got a chilled vibe with its own in-house bar and a games room featuring a pool table and table tennis—ideal for kicking back and relaxing after a full day on the slopes.

As for food, you’ll be well looked after. All your meals are served in the hotel’s dining room, with breakfast provided every day, and packed lunches and evening meals served five days a week.

Tuition

You’ll get more on-snow training at SnowSkool Big White than on any other course we offer. Over five action-packed weeks, you’ll be getting top-quality tuition for five hours a day, five days a week—plenty of time to seriously level up your skills.

All your coaching comes from the most senior instructors at the Big White Ski & Board School. We’re talking seriously qualified pros—most are Level 4s, and all are at least Level 3 with a ton of real-world experience. Plus, with group sizes capped at just eight per trainer, you’ll get loads of personal feedback and support.

In short? You're in seriously good hands.

Qualifications

On this course, SnowSkool partners with the Professional Ski Instructors of Europe (PSIE) to offer you the internationally recognised Level 1 qualification. The exam takes place over four days, where you’ll build the skills and confidence needed to teach skiing up to an intermediate level in real mountain conditions.

Once you’ve got your PSIE Level 1 under your belt, the world opens up—literally. You’ll be qualified to work as a ski instructor in Switzerland, Japan, or Canada. And if you’re thinking about chasing winter to the southern hemisphere, it’s also recognised in Australia. Not a bad way to kickstart your global ski career!
