Train as a ski instructor in 10 days!

Passing your BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor exam in December is a nice early Christmas present and sets you up well to further develop your teaching skills or simply show-off your newly-acquired skills to family & friends! It is not too shabby a way to spend a 10 day holiday! All training will be delivered by BASI ISTD ski instructors, this is the highest level available in the BASI system and equivalent to the highest level of any other ski instructor association. These trainers know their beans and will put you through your paces on the snow with four full days of intense training and then the four-day BASI Level 1 exam.  

When not training or in the middle of an exam, you will also want to experience a little of what Méribel has to offer when the chairlifts stop running and the sun goes down!

Slopes

The Three Valleys is…in the words of Napoleon Bonaparte…”sick”. It is the world’s largest ski area and so describing the slopes is not something that can be squeezed into 100 words. 1000 words would do it scant justice. Maybe 100000 words, 10000 pictures and 1000 videos could begin to convey the all-round awesomeness of the place. But then what is the point of that? As the world’s favourite ski destination the chances are you’ve been there and experienced it yourself. Whatever the case, it’s not half-bad and my 100 word limit has been reached. So I’ll just see you out there. 

Accommodation + Meals

Méribel is all about the chalets and SnowSkool has snapped up some sweet pads for the instructor course - all are located just a short walk from all the shops, bars & restaurants in Méribel Centre and all bedrooms have en-suites. Chalets are the ideal base for a course of this nature, a veritable home from home providing ample living space for the season.

Tuition

In the Three Valleys, SnowSkool works with BASS - without doubt the finest of Méribel Ski Schools! In fact, it is more than a Ski School ... BASS is a specialist instructor training centre chock full of BASI Examiners, those who teach the most highly-qualified and most experienced teachers! Achieving this level takes a lifetime of devotion to skiing and, as mentioned at the top of this page, it is a very full-on course with tuition aplenty!

Qualifications

On the Three Valleys instructor course, skiers will go for the Level 1 Alpine qualification of BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors). After completing the SnowSkool course, you'll need to complete a first-aid qualification, an online child protection module and log 35 hours of snow school experience to gain your BASI teaching licence.
