Ski Instructor Courses in The Three Valleys

Train as a ski instructor in two weeks!

Passing your BASI Level 1 Ski Instructor exam before Christmas will give you the next three-and-a-bit months to look for work as a ski instructor, develop your skills with further ski training or simply show-off your newly-acquired skills to family & friends! It is not too shabby a way to spend a two-week holiday! All training will be delivered by BASI ISTD ski instructors, this is the highest level available in the BASI system and equivalent to the highest level of any other ski instructor association. These trainers know their beans and will put you through your paces on the snow with five straight days of training, a weekend for practising skills & drills and then the five-day BASI Level 1 exam.

When not training or in the middle of an exam, your SnowSkool rep will also want to show you a little of what Méribel has to offer when the chairlifts stop running and the sun goes down!

Slopes

The Three Valleys is…in the words of Napoleon Bonaparte…”sick”. It is the world’s largest ski area and so describing the slopes is not something that can be squeezed into 100 words. 1000 words would do it scant justice. Maybe 100000 words, 10000 pictures and 1000 videos could begin to convey the all-round awesomeness of the place. But then what is the point of that? As the world’s favourite ski destination the chances are you’ve been there and experienced it yourself. Whatever the case, it’s not half-bad and my 100 word limit has been reached. So I’ll just see you out there.

Accommodation + Meals

Méribel is to chalets what Las Vegas is to bling. And, with the hotels being exorbitantly-priced and the apartments being no bigger than a shoe-box, we searched high and low and used all our powers of persuasion to blag some sweet chalets in the village of Les Allues! And here's what you can expect...

  • Rustic, traditional chalets (exterior!)
  • Modern and stylish interior
  • Large communal areas
  • Located close to Village Centre
  • Free WiFi
  • TV, Stereo and DVD players
  • En-suite (supplement payable)
  • Chalet hosts

Standard rooms are twin-share
There is the option to upgrade to a private room with prices from £250
Breakfast and home-cooked evening meals are provided 6-days per week by the chalet host

Tuition

In the Three Valleys, SnowSkool works with Parallel Lines - without doubt the finest of Méribel Ski Schools! All Parallel Lines instructors are BASI ISTD (the highest level available in the BASI system) with full French equivalence. Achieving this level takes a lifetime of devotion to skiing and, as mentioned at the top of this page, it is a very full-on course with tuition aplenty!

Qualifications

On the Three Valleys instructor course, skiers will go for the Level 1 Alpine qualification of BASI (British Association of Snowsport Instructors). After completing the SnowSkool course, you'll need to complete a first-aid qualification, an online child protection module and log 35 hours of snow school experience to gain your BASI teaching licence. Please contact the SnowSkool team if you would like more information.

Your SnowSkool Rep

With a Resort Manager, a number of chalet hosts and two dedicated SnowSkool reps, we have a big team in the Three Valleys! The SnowSkool reps are there to make sure you don’t miss out on anything; be that a practice lesson, a moguls improvement session, shadowing a senior instructor, a spot of apres at Ronnies or Jack’s Bar or an all-nighter at O’Sullivans. Thing of your SnowSkool rep as the mid-point between your Mum and your best wing-(wo)man…
