Clair Dawe-Woodings | From Chef to Ski and Snowboard instructor at Sunshine Village, Banff
24th May 2024 Clair hasn’t looked back since gaining ski and snowboard instructor qualifications at SnowSkool Banff in 2018. She urges anyone thinking about doing a SnowSkool course to go for it describing it as ‘a once in a lifetime chance’ which has improved her confidence and wellbeing and opened the doors to a life she loves. 10th May 2024 Massimo started boarding at the tender age of ... 38 years old, and 10 years later he decided to follow his dreams and do the Three Valleys SnowSkool Snowboard instructor course in 2023. SnowSkool graduates Max and James tell us about their gap year experience in Sunshine, Banff
3rd May 2024 Max Jolliffe and James Lindemann were SnowSkool students in 2023. Max is from Essex and James is from Australia. Both fresh out of school wanting to defer university, they met on the instructor course in Sunshine Village, Banff, became firm friends and have gone on to work together in Australia and Japan.
Currently in Australia and between seasons in their back-to-back winter seasons adventure, they reflect on their experience and tell us what they have planned next.
And one thing’s for sure, they are not ready to head back from the mountains just yet. Their enthusiasm for the SnowSkool course in Sunshine Village, Banff and subsequent work was palpable.

“I’ve always done a lot of sport and have helped coach football and tennis at summer camps. I also always knew I wanted to do a gap year before heading to Manchester Uni. I thought the SnowSkool course was the perfect fit for me because I didn't want to just go travelling as a tourist on my gap year – I wanted to be doing an activity."
