Emily’s second week in Big White
A new instructor this week - and a whole lot less time chatting and way more time skiing the steep and deep. We ventured into Big White's challenging bowl area and took on The Cliff - and won! Also had fun celebrating Australia Day up here with the other 20 Aussies on the course. Big improvement in my skiing already - learning lots of adjustments I need to make. I didn't think it was possible to have too much weight on your inside edge!!!!

Emily’s first week in Big White
Time to introduce Emily Jackson, the winner of SnowSkool Australia's instructor training scholarship for this season. Emily has been skiing in Interschools' races since she started at Pymble Ladies' College in Sydney in Year 7 and has made it through to state and national level on numerous occasions. Achievements outside of snow sports were also key to Emily being chosen as the Interschools' Year 12 school-leaver to train as an instructor - she's your classic all-rounder! On my Xmas list
So the shops have been gearing up with the latest ski and snowboard accessories for a month or so now and my letter to Santa seems to be getting longer and longer. A few mainstream fashion lines seem to be getting more involved this season as well which is pretty cool, especially for the piste- posers among us.

Preparing for my SnowSkool course in Banff
So this was me, exactly 2 years ago this week. I had just dropped out of Uni, (I’m back now, it’s all good), and had no idea what I was about to do with my life. All I knew is that my parents didn’t want me lazing around the house for a year before they could pack me back off to university to start again. So what did I do? To cut things short, I rang SnowSkool and booked a 13 week Snowboard Instructor Course in Banff, Canada. Literally the best decision I’ve ever made.
